Computer Vision
The Systems Engineering and Automatic Control Area of the University of Oviedo (ISA) has taken part in several projects of research and development in collaboration with other firms. Sometimes, this collaboration has been framed in an administration-subsidised project, at regional, national or European level. On other occasions, the collaboration consisted of the development of applications directly contracted by enterprises.
Apart from the projects using conventional image cameras we also work using conoscopic interferometer. With this type of camera it is possible to obtain high precision measurements.
In the activity field of the computer vision most of the projects, in which ISA has participated, are related to the inspection and the determination of measurements. Although by means of PhD thesis and the direction of final career projects we have studied other topics. Some of them are relatives to OCR, human face identification, objects identification, tracking of a robot arm, techniques for autonomous guidance for vehicles, etc.
The projects developed with enterprises are briefly commented, some of them are still in progress.
